Providing Support to Families in Need

Supportive Therapy Empowering People
focuses on improving parent child relationship and other family issues while also providing enouragement and support. This is done through talking individually and as a family unit with a professional therapist who works at your personal pace. You will not be forced to talk about topics you are not emotionally ready to deal with.

Society focuses too much on what we do wrong. STEP focuses on individuals and family strengths and NOT their weakness. We think this approach helps build trust and increases communication in the home, school and work place.

Supportive Therapy Empowering People provides high-quality, affordable:

  • Individual, group, family, and play therapy.
  • Innovative educational groups.
  • A safe, peaceful, home-like environment in which children, adolescents and families can heal and grow.

WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!!!!!!

Supportive Therapy Empowering People's first toy drive was a huge success.  Read our Article in the Tampa Tribune! Click HERE We received $2,984.12 cash donations as well as additional toys and gift cards from members of the community from October 15th through December 15th. Amazingly, in 50 days our original goal of $2500 was surpassed. It was great to be able to provide gifts to over 30 girls and 33 boys for the holidays. The smiles on their faces and the gratitude from their parents were priceless.  We also provided 18 gift cards to teenagers at Miracles Outreach CDC for additional holiday cheers. We thank every one for all their contributions as EVERY penny helped!

Thank you to Millenium Barber Shop, A Creative World, Brandon Regional Hospital, and Portable Golf Solutions for using their sites as "drop off" locations

3 Tips to improve your Relationship with your child.

1. Listen to what they have to say. Sometimes your child can be right and YOU can be wrong. Being able to admit that and say "Sorry" to your child will help heal wounds faster as well as show your child, you're not perfect.

2. AVOID power struggles. Power struggles HURT more than help. Sometimes walking away makes EVERYONE a winner. Remember, the goal isnt about being right or wrong its about decreasing "drama" and tension.

3. Laugh out loud.

7 Things Kids Wish Their Parents Did

1. Talk to us NOT at us.
2. Be fair and firm NOT mean and strict.
3. Show us how to be respectful NOT tell us how.
4. Listen to what we have to say even when you DONT like it or feel like it.
5. Tell us you love us ESPECIALLY when we are doing things that make you mad.
6. Understand when we appear ANGRY there is usually a deeper FEELING involved.
7. Be consistent. We WANT that and NEED that.
